Prologue
After Sigma and Gate's defeat in X6, Zero sealed himself up in a capsule for 108 years, in order to erradicate all traces of his maverick nature. Since X had survived the fight with Sigma and Gate, there would be no need for two reploids to protect the Earth. Or would there...?
100 years later, the world is very different. X had successfully defeated all of the maverick resistances, and the world calmed down, trying to return to the peaceful way of life before. However, a government organization called "Neo Arcadia" has taken moves to terminate all remaining reploids. A few reploids managed to escape from Neo Arcadia's wrath, but were caught and most were killed. |

A scientist named Ciel manages to escape from the carnage, and remembers that long ago, a Guardian reploid had once vanquished many forms of evil, and always strived for equal rights among reploids and humans. That Guardian was Zero.
Now, after awakening from a century of sleep, the red warrior Zero is summoned into an era of many questions. What is Neo Arcadia's motive in eliminating all reploids? How many reploids survived? And most importantly, what happened to X? |
